The deity of the Ananthancadu Sree Narayana Temple is 'Adi Shesha Naga Raja' and is an expansion of Lord Vishnu himself.

Sri Nagaraja or Anantha Shesha believes to hold the universe as such and is protecting the Lord Vishnu and his wife Lekshmi Devi for the welfare of the entire universe.

It is believed that Ananthashesha at the request Lord Bhramas went to netherworld and stablised the universe including the Bhumi.
